Some punters may take a look at Mr Incredible’s form figures and be concerned to see more letters than numbers (he has refused, pulled up, been brought down and unseated his rider in four of his last seven runs) but those defeats need to be offset against his most recent run at Uttoxeter which was very positive. Mr Incredible returned from an eleven month absence to run an excellent race when finishing runner-up to Beauport in the Midlands National, beaten just under two lengths over the marathon four mile, two furlongs trip. Trainer Willie Mullins will be hoping for better luck in the Grand National than the gelding had when running in the race last year where his saddle slipped causing jockey Brian Hayes to be unseated at the Canal Turn on the second circuit. Mr Incredible’s proven stamina should make him a popular choice for Aintree but punters should keep in mind that the eight-year-old gelding has refused to race once in the past (at Leopardstown in 2021). That said, the horse dealt with the delays etc well last year at Aintree so perhaps his problems at the start are a thing of the past. The fact that this horse has proved he can be involved at the end of a long-distance handicap off the mark he carries in the National must give him an excellent chance of being concerned in the finish at Aintree.
